Defra Release 'Air Pollution: Action in a Changing Climate' | 3 Mar 2010
Defra and its partners in the Devolved Administrations have released a concise new report examining how climate change and air quality policy can be aligned to maximise the benefits to society.
The report - 'Air Pollution: Action in a Changing Climate' - concludes that the current benefits of climate policy, calculated at £15 billion by 2050, can be boosted to nearly £40 billion by implementing climate policy in a way that also maximises air quality benefits.
The report also heralds a new approach to the development of future UK Air Quality Strategies, which will now be aligned with reviews of national Carbon Budgets set under the Climate Change Act.
