Biomass and Air Quality guidance for Scottish Local Authorities | 2 Jul 2010

Environmental Protection UK has produced a draft Biomass and Air Quality guidance document for Scottish local authorities.

Based on the Biomass and Air Quality guidance launched last year, this document has been designed to give Scottish local authority officers the specific information they need on biomass.

It includes information on the policy background to biomass, climate change and air quality, details of the technology used in biomass plant and their regulation, and finally advice on the management and mitigation of biomass emissions.

The document is now open for consultation and we are inviting comments until Friday 13 August 2010. We have not set any formal consultation questions, but invite views on the accuracy of the background information, the validity of the procedures suggested and any omissions from the current document.

Comments should be sent to Iain McLellan at
iain.mclellan@environmental-protection.org.uk or by post to:

c/o Glasgow City Council,
Land and Environmental Services,
231 George Street,
GLASGOW,
G1 1RX
