Where Now with Wind Turbine Impact Assessment?
Location: Thistle Hotel, Birmingham
Date: 9 Sep 2010
A one day workshop looking at wind turbine applications in practice
9th September, Thistle Hotel, Birmingham
The need for a renewable energy infrastructure is without question, and our small windy island has become a battle ground between planners, environmental protection officers, communities and developers as sites suitable for the installation of wind turbines are sought and fought over.
Over the past year it has become clear that the current government approved guidance used for assessment (ETSU-R-97) is not suitable for all situations now arising – leading to confusion for developers, communities and local authority officers faced with applications.
This workshop aims to bring together practitioners experienced in noise assessment, local authority officers who have dealt with or are facing applications and community neighbours of wind farms.
