Our Land Quality Work
Our land quality goal is to promote integrated policies and practices that encourage the use and reuse of land in a way that protects human health and the environment.
There are five aims that we would like to achieve, each targeted at bringing about a different aspect of our overall goal.
- Regeneration: That policy to return land to beneficial use at an EU, national, and local level reflects best practice.
- Assessment: To support the development and implementation of accurate and credible land quality assessment methods.
- Regulation: To encourage the understanding and consistent application of regulation to improve land quality.
- Management: To support continual improvement in the standard of professional practice in land quality management.
- Remediation: To encourage the appropriate, efficient and sustainable remediation of land.
To accomplish our objectives we carry out a range of different activities, for example:
- Policy development
- Lobbying
- Producing guidance
- Standard setting
- Providing training events
- Building partnerships
- Providing information resources
- Awareness
