Volvo Launches 'Emissions Equality' Campaign | 16 Jul 2010
The car manufacture Volvo has launched an 'Emissions Equality' campaign to encourage policy makers and the general public to consider toxic emissions from vehicles as well as CO2. Environmental Protection UK is supporting the campaign.
The campaign is following a three point action plan:
- Promotion materials and Facebook/ iPhone applications to plug the campaign. The application, which will let you search a vehicle's make and model, and delivers easy-to-understand information on toxic exhaust pipe of the car you drive, or are thinking of buying
- Proposing the launch an air quality environmental label that will be used alongside the CO2 label displayed in new and used car showrooms
- Setting up the Emissions Equality Think Tank (to take forward the campaigning issues over the longer term)
To support the campaign Volvo have launched an animation www.youtube.com/user/volvocarsuk and a Facebook page www.facebook.com/insidevolvouk?ref=ts
